J D. Exceptional SCOTLAND cover from "Mull of Galloway Lighthouse 31 October 1840" with partly printed contents by the Principal Light-Keeper reporting for the month of October. Sent to Edinburgh, on back arr. canc. "NOV 4 1840", endorsed "Return" and arrived back in "STRANRAER NO 8 1840". The stamp from PLATE 2 with good to very good margins and lightly tied by a red Maltese cross and manuscript. VERY FINE & SCARCE.
