Italian Occupation in Austria - Venezia Giulia, Venezia Tridentia and Corona issues. A delightful specialised collection in a high degree of completion replete with blocks and multiples, errors and varieties, misplaced overprints etc. Commencing with a good range of the overprints on the stamps of Austria with some inverted overprints and a fine unused example of the November 1918 4 k. yellow green overprinted "Venezia Giulia" with "stop after 18 omitted" variety, with Avi certificate (Sassone 17k, €3.800), other values with varieties incl. missing stops, "3.XI." omitted etc. Venezia Tridentia with 20 c. brown orange with inverted overprint used, 5 c. green overprint double. Heller surcharge issue with 10 Heller on 10 c. with "Heiler" variety in a block of four, 20 Heller on 20 c. double surcharge. Venezia Giulia overprints with 10 c. inverted ovpt., 5 c. with "Giulla" variety, 5 h. on 5 c. inverted surcharge in margin blocks of 9 and 10 (Scott $2.375) 10 Heller on 10 c. with "Heiler" variety in a block of four, 20 h. on 20 c. double surcharge, extensive range of the 1919 Corona issues for Dalmatia with a large range of overprint varieties including the 40 c. on 40 c. "ccreona" variety in complete sheet of 100 and a pair, 30 c. Express stamp with "centisim" variety, Postage Dues with varieties including inverted and the 10 c. on 10 c. with surcharge and centre inverted error, and the rare 20 c. on 20 c. value with "20" double etc. An excellent lot that will be difficult to replicate, and a specialist basis for expansion or exhibit.
