"P1/11" (paid 1s. 11d.) in red being half normal Packet rate of 3s. 9d. (1s. 2 d. Paisley to London internal postage + 2s. 7d. packet rate from London) with faint box Paisley despatch, "GLASGOW 21.AUG 1819" on reverse, red "PAID" tombstone and circular "PAID SHIP LETTER 23.AUG 1819" on front. ST. HELENA. Registered airmail cover to England with 11 1/2d. rate franked with 1/2, 5 and 6d. King George V 1922 - 1937 "ST. HELENA DE.4 36" with weight notation 7 gr. with blue airmail and registration labels. In June 1936 an airmail service via South Africa was introduced, mail being carried by sea to Cape Town and from there by air.
